Thien is a Director working in the Business Advisory practice of our Melbourne office.
Having commenced his accounting career in 2005 at PKF, Thien has plied his trade predominately in professional services but has also headed up a finance division within the corporate sector over a two-year period, creating a unique and holistic blend of skills to suit a variety of clients.
Thien specialises in servicing privately held small to medium-sized enterprises in various industries, along with high net worth individuals and families. With his astute understanding of business, taxation and superannuation, he has helped improved tax and financial outcomes for numerous clients through careful tax planning, strategic analysis and management consulting.
Having also worked closely with several corporate groups, Thien is more than capable of servicing clients at the C-suite level. His experience in this area has seen him become part of the ‘business as usual’ operations as well as delving into complex situations. Specifically, he has a strong grasp on international tax issues, tax structuring, consolidation, foreign exchange, tax effect accounting and financial reporting obligations.
While having a strong background in traditional tax and accounting advisory services, Thien also brings in a wealth of knowledge from his corporate sector experience, which includes cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting, KPI reporting, supply chain management and IT infrastructure implementation. He believes these are essential ingredients needed to help businesses grow and to facilitate enduring success.
