Hunter leader appointed as National Chairman

PKF in Australia has announced the appointment of local Managing Director, Steve Meyn, as Chairman.

Meyn brings a stability to the group since its reincarnation in 2014 where he was an instrumental part of the then Lawler National Alliance executive that joined PKF to reinvigorate the PKF brand across Australia. Coinciding with Meyn’s appointment as Chairman has been the move to appoint Peter Cannan as CEO.

“PKF is agile and easily able to respond to the market and client conditions, we proved that throughout COVID. We have a true understanding and respect for the SME market in which we operate. It’s time for us to enhance and leverage all that we have built and I look forward to working with Peter to make that happen” Meyn commented.

Meyn’s appointment to Chairman shows the respect that local firm, PKF Sydney & Newcastle has earned from its national and global counterparts. It comes on the heels of Clayton Hickey, Audit and Assurance partner, being named as the PKF International Global Chair of the International Professional Standards Committee.

“The capabilities of our firm and our people has enabled us to grow with the needs of not only our clients but expand the value we bring to our team in providing opportunities for professional development at a local, national and international level” said Meyn.

Despite this appointment, Meyn’s heart remains firmly in Newcastle and with his local clients. It is working with them that keeps his finger on the pulse of the business community and allows him to lead PKF Sydney and Newcastle and PKF in Australia with authenticity and genuine care.

PKF in Australia farewelled long-serving Chairman/CEO, Norm Draper after 11-years as he heads into retirement.

“Norm has built PKF in Australia to be what it is today. Under his leadership we have achieved so much, established a strong foundation for the future and Peter and I are proud to be taking the reigns from such a great person” said Meyn.
