Professional experience
Matthew has over 20 years of professional experience as both an in-house and external tax adviser. He has worked in the Corporate Tax practices of two Big 4 professional services firms and held various senior tax and finance positions with QSuper (now Australian Retirement Trust). He has a combination of specialist industry experience within the superannuation, insurance, funds management and banking industries and a breadth of more general experience advising a wide range of businesses in respect of their taxation obligations.
Matthew has provided taxation advice to support significant domestic, inbound and outbound investment, restructures, financing and capital management transactions. He also has considerable experience managing the domestic and international tax compliance obligations of large corporate groups, investment funds and large family offices. He has supported clients through audit and review activities undertaken by the Australian Taxation Office and other revenue authorities. Furthermore, he has experience in the establishment and practical application of tax risk management policies and control frameworks.
Matthew's depth of commercial experience gives him a unique perspective when providing tax services to his clients and an understanding of the value of practical, easy-to-understand and timely advice.
