Darren is a Partner in the Taxation team. He has more than 27 years of experience in providing taxation and business services solutions to clients across industry sectors including mining and energy, property development, financial services, information technology, manufacturing and retail. He assists both SMEs and ASX listed companies in relation to their taxation needs.
He specializes in helping clients of all sizes on capital gains tax matters, corporate restructures, tax effective business structuring and goods and services tax.
Darren began his career in 1987 with a Big 4 International accounting firm, in the taxation consulting division. After gaining experience on a variety of clients and high-level assignments, Darren joined PKF Mack as a Taxation Manager in 1992. Darren became a Partner of PKF Mack in 1995. He is a graduate of the University of Western Australia, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand and a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Taxation Institute of Australia.
In 2014, Darren was appointed to the Board of Netball WA where he works with the Board to guide the strategic direction of the sport of Netball in WA, which encompasses the ANZ Championship team, the West Coast Fever.
Away from the desk, Darren enjoys fishing trips in far away places (except when he got caught up in the recent Category 4 cyclone off Queensland), watching his daughters excel at Rhythmic Gymnastics, the beach in summer, the football in winter, and helping out at his wife's ballet school (including cameo roles in the year end concerts).
